The Good Word Report: A Third Grader Inspires a Teacher to Pay it Forward

In starting Car Window Poetry, I aimed to prove that the smallest act of love, and even the smallest hands, can make the biggest difference in people's lives. Recently, a story came out of Michigan that exemplified this beautiful truth.

A few weeks ago, Holly, a mother and special education teacher in Millington, Michigan, came out to her car after a day full of meetings and found the poem pictured above on her car window. She was taken aback and planned to pay the kindness she received forward.

I love having the opportunity to share Car Window Poetry with students because kids are more powerful than they know. Kids don't only have the power to encourage grownups, but to inspire them to take action. A small child's kindness disrupted Holly's day and planted a seed in her heart that has grown into her sharing encouraging poems with students in her community.

Just like Holly, make it your mission to brighten someone's day! Gather your friend, write encouraging poems, and share them on car windows. Get involved with Car Window Poetry here!

Much love.
